Domains
What happens when a domain expires
When a domain expires, website and email may stop working and, after some time, the domain may be lost. Renewing before the deadline is the safest way to avoid trouble.

Expiry matters
Domains are registered for limited periods. If they are not renewed, they reach an expiry date.
When this happens, the domain may stop working correctly. Website, email and other services depending on the domain can be affected even if the servers still exist.
What can happen after expiry
The exact behaviour depends on the extension and registry, but common risks include:
- website and email interruption;
- urgent renewal notices;
- a grace period where renewal may still be possible;
- a recovery period with additional cost;
- final release of the domain;
- registration by someone else.
Not all extensions have the same deadlines or conditions.
Why you should not wait
Even if some domains can be recovered after expiry, recovery is not guaranteed or immediate.
During expiry you may lose visitors, email and user trust. Certificates, external services, DNS verifications and accounts depending on domain email may also be affected.
How PRIMARI.NET handles it
PRIMARI.NET shows managed domains in the panel and lets you renew them before the expiry date.
If the domain is in your account, open Domain buy/manage and review the domain list. If renewal is needed, follow the renewal process and complete payment.
When renewal is accepted, PRIMARI.NET updates the domain status and keeps management active according to the rules of the extension.
Good practices
To reduce risk:
- renew before the deadline;
- keep the contact email up to date;
- review panel notices;
- do not wait until the last day for critical domains;
- check that payment has completed.
If the domain is essential for your business, treat renewal as a priority task.
When to contact PRIMARI.NET
Contact PRIMARI.NET if a domain has already expired, if you cannot renew it from the panel, if website or email have stopped working or if you need to know the recovery margin for a specific extension.
