Web hosting
What do http, https and both mean
HTTP is an unencrypted web connection, HTTPS uses a certificate and encryption, and both allows visitors to use either protocol if configuration permits.
Reviewed:
The protocol is how visitors enter
When configuring a website, the protocol says whether it is reached through http://, https:// or both.
https:// is recommended for modern websites because it encrypts the connection and avoids security warnings.
Basic differences
http: unencrypted connection;https: encrypted connection with a certificate;both: allows HTTP and HTTPS.
If you choose HTTPS, you need a valid certificate for the website name.
At PRIMARI.NET
In Web hosting, the Protocol field can use values such as http, https or both.
If you want HTTPS, also review Certificates. If there is no certificate or it does not match the name, the browser may show errors.
When to contact PRIMARI.NET
Contact PRIMARI.NET if you are unsure which protocol to choose, want to force HTTPS or see browser warnings when opening the website.
